British shoe manufacturer Timberland has put up a series of designer boots for a charity auction, made in collaboration with the legendary Beatle Ringo Starr. Elements of the musician's painting "Sign of Peace" were used in the design. Each of the 75 couples was personally signed by Ringo.
Earthkeepers shoes made from environmentally friendly materials were used for the charity event “Fabric that cares”. The musician, along with other members of his All-Starr Band, is going to perform at concerts.
Ringo Starr shoes will be auctioned on eBay in the Giving Works section from December 1 to 11 - and only in the size worn by Starr himself (Russian 41). The starting price of the lot will be $ 250.
Timberland expects to earn at least $ 18,750 from the auction. Revenues from sales will be directed to the non-profit organization WaterAid, which provides clean water and hygiene in poor and environmentally dirty countries. This was reported by fashionunited.
