For spring/summer 2022, Timberland introduced two updated loafers and boat shoes, the GreenStride Ray City EK+ for her and the GreenStride TBL Originals Ultra EK+ for him. The new version of the shoe combines the classic moccasin upper with a rough shoe sole made using GreenStride technology.
The Timberland moccasin model has been produced since 1978. Details from classics like hand-stitching and three-row eyelets have been updated, and the new GreenStride outsole is made from plant-derived foam made from 75% sugar cane and rubber. Natural and renewable ingredients are mixed into a single plastic mass that makes the sole light and comfortable. The ReBOTL lining contains at least 50% recycled nylon fibers, while an EVA foam midsole adds comfortable cushioning.
The models will be released as part of Timberland's Earthkeepers Edition series. As part of this series, moccasins are made from Regenerative Leather, sourced from regenerative farms. Their farming methods fully mimic natural processes, eliminating the use of chemical fertilizers, which contributes to the restoration of the soil and the growth of biodiversity.
