Timberland planted 50 million trees

Timberland, the American shoe and clothing brand, launches the Nature Needs Heroes campaign (translated from English: “Nature needs heroes”) and plans to plant 50 million trees over 5 years.

According to research by the Swiss University of ETH Zurich, the restoration of the green massif is one of the most effective measures to mitigate the effects of climate change on the planet. In this regard, over the next five years, Timberland intends to take an active part in all forest restoration initiatives. The company encourages everyone to join this initiative and launches a global advertising campaign called “Nature Needs Heroes”. As part of the campaign, a photo shoot was held, the heroes of which were 12 people, the so-called eco-heroes who work for the good of the environment and make positive changes in the environment. All appear in photographs in clothes and shoes of the new 2019 fall brand collection.

The campaign is designed for great coverage and will be presented in print and digital publications, street advertising, social networks and PR. In addition, Timberland plans a number of tree planting events in different cities around the world.

The 50 million tree planting campaign will take place in collaboration with major environmental organizations. Already in 2020, new Timberland trees may appear in Haiti, China, the Dominican Republic, the USA, Tanzania, and Bali. The company also plans to support the African Union’s Great Green Wall project in Africa, an 8 thousand km long green strip, to combat desertification south of the Sahara desert.
