American footwear brand Timberland has announced a program to collect footwear and apparel for recycling and the creation of new items from recycled materials. The Timberloop program operates in the United States, writes WWD.
Anyone can come to one of Timberland's American corners and donate unnecessary shoes or clothes to special boxes. In gratitude for participating in the program, which has a good goal - to reduce waste, the brand gives a 10% discount on the purchase of any item in Timberland retail.
The things collected in this way will be sent by the company either for recycling or for repair. In the spring, the brand is going to launch a special platform for the sale of footwear made from recycled materials.
