In September, Tod's plans to release a new capsule collection, T Factory, which will be the fourth in a row. This time, the brand is collaborating with the Japanese brand Hender Scheme, founded by designer Ryo Kashiwazaki, writes WWD.
The details of the collaboration are still unknown. The brand announced that the capsule collection will be presented during Milan Fashion Week. Immediately after the presentation, it will be on sale in select Tod's boutiques, on the brand's website, at 10 Corso Como in Milan and Seoul, as well as on the Dover Street market in Tokyo, Beijing and Singapore.
In the process of cooperation, the Italian luxury brand and the Japanese designer will share their experience in the creation and production of shoes. Ryo Kashiwazaki was born in Tokyo in 1985 and began his career in a shoe factory as a university student in 2005. In 2010, he founded Hender Scheme, a shoe and sneaker brand. Hender Scheme has been presenting its collections in Paris since fall 2015 and has collaborated with various brands, including adidasOriginals, The North Face. Kashiwazaki worked with Tod's Creative Director Walter Chiapponi on the T Factory capsule.
The T Factory project started in 2018. The main idea of the project was the collaboration of Tod's with designers and artists from the world of luxury and design, the release of joint original collections, capsules and limited editions. Designers reinterpret Tod's style and heritage through their own creativity. After collaborating with Alessandro Del'Aqua in 2018 and Albert Elbaz in 2019, the brand launched a ready-to-wear and accessories collection last year with Japanese brand Mame Kurogouchi.
