The retail space of the largest retail chains in Russia is equivalent to 1 000 football fields

According to the rating of retail chains INFOLine Retailer Russia TOP-100, compiled by INFOLine and Retailer magazine, the total sales area of ​​the first hundred retailers of the country at the end of 2010 of the year amounted to 13,2 million sq m. On such territory, for example, 1 000 football fields can be located. According to INFOLine, over the past year alone, the area of ​​the hundred leaders of Russian retail has increased by 16,8%, which corresponds to 1,7 million square meters.

In Russia, over the past year, the largest retail chains have significantly increased their retail space and continue to grow steadily this year. The first places in the rating were shared by grocery retail and chains selling household appliances, however, the fashion segment is also in the top twenty. For example, the Sportmaster company (the Sportmaster and Austin brands) took 16th place in the rating, Detsky Mir - 29th, and the Tsentrobuv shopping center - 27th.

The growth rates of the largest retailers in the country are also impressive. Out of the twenty leaders in terms of area, the largest growth in the past year was made by Tsentrobuv Trading House - by 89,5%, or 85 thousand sq. M.
