According to experts, a complete rejection of heels can lead to deformation of the knee joints, to pain in the legs and back, to curvature of the spine and even the development of arthritis. According to statistics from American orthopedists, over the past three years, the number of women who come to them wearing flat shoes has increased several times.
One of the specialists, Dr.Mike O'Neill, said that such consequences arise due to the fact that if the heel does not rise even slightly, the foot slides into the inside of the shoe when walking, which leads to stretching of the tendons and ligaments.
