UGG® Australia presents the first Italian capsule collection

UGG® Australia's flagship store in GUM hosted the presentation of the UGG® Collection - the first luxury collection in the history of the brand, hand-made by Italian craftsmen. The presentation was like an impromptu fashion shoot in the spirit of Italian neorealism: the models were like the actresses from the films of Federico Fellini.

A collection of shoes made of Tuscan fur, Spanish merino leather and soft handmade suede is inspired by the rustic luxury of Italy. The names for the shoe lines were chosen accordingly: Cavalieri - for shoes inspired by Italian jockey boots with gaiters, Giorgina - for fashionable pony fur boots with leopard print and leather trim, Fiorentina - for over the knee boots.

“Both designers and consumers are in love with high Italian quality and elegance. When we decided to design a haute couture collection, Italy was undeniably the best place to find inspiration, ”comments Leah Larson, vice president of the company.

All shoes of the new line are marked with a peculiar quality mark - the UGG® Collection metal logo.

The history of the UGG® Australia brand began in the 1978 year when Brian Smith, a surfer from Australia, brought sheepleather shoes to America. A new stage in the development of the brand began in 1998, when the UGG® Australia brand was bought by the American company Deckers and began its successful development in the USA.

Thanks to further rapid development, the UGG® Australia brand was awarded the “Brand of the Year” title in the 1998 year in the USA and took a place alongside the world's best luxury brands.

In March 2010, the UGG® Australia brand was recognized as the UK brand of the year by the prestigious Drapers Footwear Awards.
