The founder of the luxury brand Kenzo, Japanese designer Kenzo Takada died on October 4 from coronavirus at the American Hospital in Paris, he was 81 years old.
Kenzo Takada was the first Japanese designer to be recognized in the fashion world in Paris, and his career began when his design appeared on the cover of Elle magazine in 1970. Six years later, he opened his first boutique in the French capital. Kenzo left his namesake brand in 1999 after it was acquired by French luxury group LVMH, Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton. In January of this year, the designer announced the launch of the luxury interior brand K3, which was presented at the Maison et Objet exhibition.
