Under Armor launches two running sneakers with an innovative cushioning system

Under Armor, an international brand of high-tech sportswear, shoes and accessories, has developed technology for UA HOVR sports shoes, which provides not only a strong cushioning while running, but also a return of energy due to a powerful rebound.

At the moment, innovative technology is presented in two models of the new UA HOVR Sonic and UA HOVR Phantom running shoes, but in the future it will be used for the release of other models. Lightweight UA HOVR Sonic (weight - 272 g.) Are designed primarily for long-distance running, while stylish and soft UA HOVR Phantom (weight - 300,5 g.) Are more suitable for short speed runs.

UA HOVR midsole is made from a patented foam, developed in collaboration with Dow Chemical, an innovative chemical company that provides cushioning at every step, and the Energy Web compression net supports the foam and promotes energy recovery. As written in the company's press release, this combination makes running more comfortable and helps the athlete achieve better results. Thanks to UA HOVR depreciation system® sneakers absorb part of the blow per athlete’s foot, while maintaining his strength and providing a higher level of comfort.

“At each step, the runner experiences a shock load that is 2-4 times greater than his body weight. When developing UA HOVR technology, we aimed to create the perfect combination of cushioning and energy return - in essence, to help the runner stay a little longer in the flight phase, ”says Dave Dombrow, chief designer at Under Armor. - The sole of the HOVR returns energy, making every step easier. I am very proud of this product. HOVR opens a new chapter in the history of design and innovation Under Armor. ”
