LLC “Avtokam” of the deputy of the legislative assembly of the Omsk region Viktor Zharkov intends to launch a shoe production plant in the region together with the Belarusian “Grodno shoe factory“ Neman ”. Experts estimate investments in the project at “several tens of millions of rubles”. The new Omsk-Belarusian enterprise intends to stake on children's shoes and sell them through its own chain of stores in Siberia, the Far East and Northern Kazakhstan.
According to Maxim Klyagin, an analyst with Finam Management, the initial investment in the project may amount to “several tens of millions of rubles”. The experts estimated the payback period from 3 to 8 years.
Shoe market participants believe that the new Omsk-Belarusian production can actually become a pioneer in the children's footwear market in the region due to the lack of competitors.
Experts confirm that in the segment of children's footwear a new player can take a "solid market share". “The size of the footwear market in the Omsk region can be estimated at about 4,5-5 billion rubles. Usually, in the total market volume, children's footwear accounts for about 10% of sales on average. This is a high-margin segment with excellent growth prospects, including due to the localization of production and a gradual reduction in the share of imports, ”says Maxim Klyagin.
