Chanel boutiques in London are gathering huge lines in connection with the launch of a unique collection of the French luxury brand Metier d'Art. For example, a line of about 200 people gathered at the Chanel boutique located on Bond Street, writes WWD.
Chanel has been at the forefront of a movement to restore retail activity after a long lockdown in London, journalists joke. On Wednesday morning, huge queues of people wishing to purchase items from the unique collection of Chanel Metier d'Art lined up outside the boutiques of the French luxury brand in London. Photos and videos of the queues could be seen on Instagram. At the same time, as noted by WWD journalists, most of the people in the queues were resellers who purchased products of a unique collection for resale in China.
Since April 2020, pending demand in China has led to long queues for luxury brand boutiques. Even with prices rising throughout the pandemic, Chanel handbags proved to be so attractive to Chinese shoppers that many of them turned to overseas Chinese-speaking agents to get new models for the season.
