The Ministry of Industry and Trade and the labeling operator Center for the Development of Advanced Technologies (CRPT) summed up the first week of the mandatory labeling of shoes in Russia, speaking at the RIA Novosti online conference. The ban on the turnover of unmarked products in the footwear market entered into force on July 1, 2020.
“Everyone who wanted to test the business process and select the necessary equipment, build a system and understand how it works, had the necessary time for this,” said Viktor Yevtukhov, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade.
According to Mikhail Dubin, chairman of the board of directors of CRPT, there was no spike in the emission of marking codes on the footwear market in the first week of the ban, and this is due to the fact that most market participants managed to connect to the marking system before July 1. “About 4,5 million codes are issued on a working day. As a reminder, the mandatory shoe labeling was planned to be launched from March 1, and then there were peak loads on the contact center and ordering codes, ”he said.
