Alexander Wang's Spring/Summer 2026 Collection Features 3D Printed Shoes
Alexander Wang presented 3D-printed cat-toe heels at his Spring/Summer '26 show at New York Fashion Week.
An American designer has pioneered the use of 3D printing technology to create footwear, turning to the Hilos product creation platform.
“I’ve never done 3D-printed shoes before, this was my first,” Wang said in an interview backstage after his show on Friday. “We have a small 3D printer in our office where we print mock-ups of heels and embellishments. But we’ve always treated it as a tool for rapid development. So it’s nice to be able to create something like this with virtually no waste while exploring new innovations.”
As for the shoe's design, Wang noted that despite the Griphoria being 3D printed, the silhouette still features intricate details like a micro-textured upper, a soft lattice footbed, and a sturdy heel.
