The Christian Dior: Designer Of Dreams exhibition is being held in London at the Victoria and Albert Museum of Decorative Arts and Design from February 2 to July 14 on 2019.
The large-scale exhibition covers the history of the Dior fashion house from 1947 to the present day. More than 500 objects are presented on it. In addition to showcasing the house's most iconic dresses, the exhibition also showcases other creations of the couturier himself and those who have collaborated with the fashion house Dior throughout its history. The section titled “Diorama” presents a variety of accessories - from jewelry to hats, as well as shoes, bags, archival lipstick, and perfume bottles.
In the section “Designers for Dior” you can find the works of the six creative directors of the brand who managed it after the death of the founder Christian Dior in 1957. It will be possible to trace how each designer interpreted the brand’s vision in his own way, while adhering to the “Dior code” in sequence.
In a special section "Ballroom" in a single installation, visitors are betrayed by the most iconic evening dresses Dior, which were produced by the fashion house in its entire 70 summer history.
Christian Dior: Designer of Dreams builds on the previous major exhibition in Paris, "Christian Dior: Couturier du Rêve", but includes a section that highlights Christian Dior's fascination with London and British culture.
