According to the international consulting company NF Group (ex-Knight Frank Russia), by the end of the year the volume of vacant retail space in shopping centers in Moscow may reach 16-17%. This is the highest figure since 2014, writes Fashion United.
Currently, the vacancy rate in shopping centers in Moscow is 13%. The forecast for an increase in this indicator is associated with the closure of stores of major international brands, one of which is the Swedish department store H&M.
According to NF Group, about 152 foreign brands are now represented in shopping centers. Since the beginning of 2022, 30 companies have announced their final withdrawal from Russia.
Experts also note that since the beginning of 2022, 6 new brands have entered the Moscow shopping center market, by the end of the year this figure may grow to 11. Most of them are fashionable Turkish brands.
