In the first half of 2021, the vacancy rate in the shopping streets of the capital, where the premises are mainly occupied by shops in the Fashion segment, increased from 13,3% to 17,2% year-on-year. We are talking about such streets as Petrovka, Stoleshnikov Lane and Tretyakovsky Proezd. The vacancy rate has become a record since 2016, - cites the data of the analytical report of JLL Kommersant.
On the restaurant streets Bolshaya Dmitrovka, Bolshaya Nikitskaya, Pokrovka, Maroseyka, Pyatnitskaya, Nikolskaya, Myasnitskaya, Kuznetsky Most, Kamergersky Lane and the Patriarch's Ponds area, the vacancy rate decreased from 15% to 12,4%. On the streets of mixed type (1st Tverskaya-Yamskaya, Arbat, Tverskaya and Garden Ring) the share of vacant premises increased from 16,2% to 16,4%. The average vacancy rate in Moscow for six months remained at the level of 15%.
Experts and market participants note that against the background of a decrease in consumer traffic, fashion retail operators are reducing the number of stores in the street-retail format, leaving only flagship stores on the shopping streets. In parallel with this process, retailers are betting on online development.
