According to Colliers, vacancy in the central streets of Moscow increased in the fourth quarter of 2018 to 5,7%, from 4,8% in the second and third quarter of the year.
According to analysts, this may be due to its sharp decline in the middle of last year due to the holding of the World Cup 2018 in the capital. So at the beginning of 2018, the vacancy rate was equal to 7%.
The number of free retail street space also increased on pedestrian streets, by the end of the year it reached 4,2% from 2,9% in the third quarter. On the Boulevard Ring, vacancy increased from 5,7% to 7%, on Sadovoy - from 6,8% to 7,5%.
In addition, last year, about 14% of the premises in street retail were replaced by tenants. At the same time, rental rates rose by 15-20%. Clothing and footwear stores occupy about 10% of the street retail area within the Garden Ring.
