A technological center for the manufacture of leather goods has opened in Novosibirsk

The center will train up to 50 specialists a year. Students at the institute will be able to study at the center, as well as anyone who wants to master the technology of working with the leather, including with the goal of opening their own business.

The initiator of the opening of the center was the Novosibirsk Technological Institute (branch) of the RSU named after A.N. Kosygina is one of the largest universities in the Urals that implements training for the light industry and the fashion industry.

The center was created with the support of the key partners of the university - Obuv Rossii GK and one of the leading suppliers of industrial equipment for light industry enterprises of the Siberian Federal District Sfera.

“The first task of this center is to improve the quality of training for our graduates, the second is social: to give everyone an opportunity to get skills, knowledge, and skills in the field of design and technology of leather products, which can be an impetus for the development of small and medium-sized businesses in this area in Novosibirsk and the Novosibirsk region, ”said Alexei Sokolovsky, director of the NTI (branch) of the RSU named after A.N. Kosygin, at the grand opening of the center on Friday 16 of February.

In recent years, shoe production in Russia and the Novosibirsk region has shown positive dynamics. In this regard, there was a need to open this center, which will allow teaching not only the theoretical foundations of production processes, the range of materials and design methods, but also the practical skills of working with the leather.

Thanks to the rich professional experience of the teachers of the center and modern professional equipment, university students and students of additional education programs will be able to master modern technologies for creating leather goods. According to Petr Karabanov, head of the Department of Technology of Leather Products and Packaging Production of the NTI, the staff of the institute conceived of opening a technology center more than three years ago. “Our students and teachers of the department made a great contribution to the creation of the center. I know that students have already started testing their ideas here, which is great, this is the main goal. It is important that student and teaching ideas not only freeze in virtual form or on paper, but find their embodiment and implementation, "Petr Karabanov emphasized.

Training at the center will be organized both for students and for those who are undergoing training in additional education programs. The Institute will offer a choice of various programs lasting from 12 hours. The training will take place in groups of 3-5 people, the whole institute will be able to train up to 50 specialists a year.
