Chanel Metiers d'Art 2026 show held in the New York subway

The Chanel Métiers d'Art 2026 show took place in the abandoned Bowery subway station in New York City. "I think it's the only city in the world where all walks of life use the subway, and it's the only place where there's no hierarchy," explained Chanel creative director Mathieu Blasi, explaining his choice of __cpLocation.

The Chanel Metiers d'Art collection is unique in that it is designed to showcase the high class and art of handcrafting wardrobe items by the House of Chanel's artisans. The Metiers d'Art shows are held in exciting __cpLocations around the world. Each time, the choice of __cpLocation is intriguing, and the fashion show is captivating, in part due to the exceptional venue.

Chanel's first Metiers d'Art show in New York in 2018 took place at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. This year, the house's new creative director, Mathieu Blasi, also chose New York as the venue, using the abandoned platform of the Bowery subway station.

The choice of __cpLocation is symbolic; Blasi restores the brand to its original meaning: Coco Chanel created her pieces to make ordinary women's looks more interesting. The Chanel show in the metro immerses the brand in everyday life, emphasizing its relevance.
