According to analysts from Russian Standard Bank, who analyzed purchasing activity for cards of all banks in its acquiring network, in the first half of 2021, the number of purchases in traditional retail increased by 69%, while purchases in online retail decreased by a quarter. At the same time, the total number of purchases in the first half of 2021 in comparison with the same period in 2020 increased by 15%, RIA Novosti reports.
The data obtained indicate a gradual recovery in trade in traditional retail. At the same time, the rapid growth of online commerce, which came during a period of strict quarantine due to the spread of Covid-19 in 2020, has now moved into a stage of smooth natural formation.
In the reporting period, an increase in the amount of purchases in traditional retail was also recorded - by 83%. At the same time, the average check for one purchase for the first half of 2021 offline increased by 8% compared to the same period last year. It amounted to 1 rubles this year against 123 rubles in the previous year.
