Online sneaker store SuperStep invited four artists to create virtual sneaker models and exhibit them at Russia's first NFT sneaker auction. (NFT technology allows you to sell and resell pictures, gifs, music or items from a computer game). The project was attended by artists i61, Anna Cattish, Yoshimitszu, Artur Sozidai.
The auction was held on NFT - the Rarible marketplace on July 4, 2021, the items for sale were NFT images and models of sneakers printed on a 3D printer.
Artist Fedor Oralov, acting under the pseudonym i61, created the design of sneakers, fantasizing about the superman. Anton Kosicki (Yoshimitszu) offered his version of sneakers in a dark horror aesthetic. Illustrator Anna Cattish created sneakers for the cartoon character. The design of Arthur Soziday's sneaker model was based on simplicity and practicality.
The work of each artist was unique in its own way and could be purchased for cryptocurrency. All proceeds from the purchase of sneakers went to support budding artists and the development of contemporary art in Russia.
