According to Nikoliers, in the first half of 2025, the volume of retail space commissioned in St. Petersburg amounted to 61 thousand square meters. Two new facilities were commissioned - the Nebo shopping center in Murino (GLA 25,7 thousand square meters) and Park Mall (GLA 35 thousand square meters).
And by the end of the year, the city on the Neva plans to launch the largest shopping center in Russia - MFTRK Hollywood (GLA 60 thousand square meters), as well as two Kronung facilities: in the residential complex "Sunny City" (GLA 3,5 thousand square meters) and in Novogorelovo (GLA 11,8 thousand square meters).
Thus, by the end of the year, a new record for the introduction of shopping centers over the past 11 years is expected – 136 thousand square meters.
Along with the opening of new shopping centers, many retailers are now optimizing their retail networks, giving preference to quality rather than quantity. In this regard, according to Yulia Kuznetsova, Director of the Nikoliers Retail Real Estate Department, this year should end with the stabilization of the vacancy rate in St. Petersburg shopping centers in the corridor of 3,5-4%, which corresponds to the long-term average values for the retail real estate market of the Northern capital.
The traffic rate of shopping centers in St. Petersburg for the first five months of 2025 remains at the level of 2023-2024.
