Detsky Mir Group, together with BIT, an IT company, one of the leading developers of security solutions based on biometrics, launched an improved system for monitoring and preventing shoplifting, the STOP-Shoplifter IAS, in Detsky Mir retail stores. The system includes more than 150 cameras located in the trading floors and capable of recognizing faces.
The predictive video analytics and face recognition system module allows predicting the further development of the situation, identifying intruders, collecting information about cases of theft and storing visual data of offenders. In the event of a repeated visit of alleged intruders to the store, the system will recognize them and notify the security service about this.
According to the data for 2021, the STOP-Shoplifter IAS system, installed in stores of more than 30 retail chains, detected and prevented more than 5 thefts.
“The New Year holidays are approaching, and with them the traffic of customers in the stores of the network is increasing. The introduction of the new system, especially during the peak season, will ensure safety for customers, as well as significantly reduce financial losses,” commented Yury Vikulin, Director of the Internal Audit Department at Detsky Mir Group.
