More than 2023 new stores and catering establishments were opened in the large classical shopping centers of St. Petersburg in three months of 40, which is 25% more than in the first quarter of 2022, Nikoliers analysts calculated. Nearly three dozen more outlets are preparing to open in the near future.
The discoveries that have taken place since the beginning of 2023 concern mainly the fashion segment - 49% of the total. So, retail outlets of clothing brands ANNA PEKUN and 2MOOD were opened in the Galeria shopping center, MUSTANG and LICHI stores were opened in the City Mall, a SARTO REALE branded salon was opened in Europolis, and a store of the Rostov company Elis Fashion Rus was opened in Okhta Mall. , and the Fashion House Outlet Center now features Giovanni Botticelli, Bogatto and Jeans Dean.
According to the experts of the consulting company Nikoliers, Russian brands continue to enter the St. Petersburg market. Since the spring of 2022, Aprell Shop, Slava, Emka, You Wanna, LoLoClo and others have appeared in the malls of the city for the first time. In the first quarter, a store was opened for another new representative of fashion retail for the Northern capital - the NOUN brand from Volgograd.
NOUN occupied the premises on the second floor of the Europolis shopping center, which previously housed the Monki store of the Swedish company H&M Group. Two other premises of this fashion retailer who left Russia in Europolis (H&M and H&M Home) were rented by Befree and sela moms & monster. In addition, the Snow Queen is preparing to open in the City Mall shopping center instead of H&M, and Befree will start working on the second floor in the Gallery.
The premises of other departed foreign brands are also gradually filled with operators. In the Mega Dybenko shopping center, sela moms & monsters will replace UNIQLO, and in the Okhta Mall shopping center there will be another outlet of the Snow Queen chain. In the Zhemchuzhnaya Plaza shopping center, instead of Adidas, Ormatek's branded furniture store has started working, and FINN FLARE will soon open in Europolis on the area previously occupied by Deichmann.
It should be noted that for the whole of 2022, about 150 new stores opened in the key shopping centers of the Northern capital, and 13 new brands entered the St. Petersburg market.
“Market participants have done a great job adapting to the current situation and are now implementing new development strategies: expanding store formats, introducing new product lines and expanding their presence in the market. In addition, according to Focus Technologies, in the first months of 2023, the attendance index showed a positive trend, which illustrates the trend towards the return of buyers to shopping centers,” comments Irina Tsarkova, Director of Retail Real Estate at Nikoliers.
