A department store with goods of Russian brands will be opened in the Nevsky Center shopping center in St. Petersburg

Russian brands of shoes, clothing, accessories, cosmetics, household goods will be collected in one Slava department store, which will open on June 11 in the Nevsky Center shopping center in St. Petersburg.

The area of the Slava Department Store of Russian designers will be 400 sq. meters. The store presents more than 40 brands from different regions of the country (clothes and shoes account for 30% of the range, and 70% for household goods, cosmetics and jewelry). The project is being developed by Magic Group.

Since 2015, Slava department stores have been operating in the format of temporary pop-up stores and theme fairs. Since 2020, the company has switched to a permanent lease format. The new store is the fifth department store to open permanently.

Investments in opening a store in the shopping center "Nevsky Center" amounted to 7 million rubles. In the next two years, Magic Group plans to open about 20 new department stores.

RBC cites data from Knight Frank analysts, according to which most of the Russian local brands account for clothing and footwear - 83%, jewelry / bijouterie - 6%, and underwear - 3%.

The categories "cosmetics and perfumery", "accessories", "goods for children" account for only 2% of the total. "Sporting goods" accounted for 1%, and "hobbies and entertainment" - 0,3%. Local brands are mainly represented in the price segment "average" (50%) and "above average" (28%), and the mass market accounts for only 2% - this is due to the fact that the products of well-known mass market brands are sewn in third world countries.
