In Turkey, representatives of the light industry asked for state support

The Turkish Footwear Manufacturers Association TASD calculated the difference in the cost of materials for producing a pair of sneakers in China and Turkey, it was $3,9. That's how much more expensive it is to produce a pair of sneakers in Turkey, Bloomberg reports.

In this regard, TASD President Berke Ichten stated that taxes on the import of raw materials and components for the footwear industry should be reduced to a reasonable level.

"Under the current circumstances, there is no way to reduce labor costs. Therefore, at least the burden on the shoe manufacturer should be eased in terms of raw material and auxiliary supplies, and import taxes that exceed 100% should be reduced to a reasonable level," said Berke Ichten.

In addition, representatives of the Turkish light industry consider it important to implement the following measures to maintain the competitiveness of their industry in the international market:

· Implementation of strict control over the flow of illegal products and counterfeit goods;

· Providing the opportunity for long-term financing at a low interest rate for companies that, despite difficult economic conditions, continue to invest in the development of production and the updating of the technological base.
