Versace presents “complex” Mercury sneakers
Luxury brand Versace is set to release one of its most exciting sneaker models in June, writes Footwearnews.com. Dubbed the "Versace Mercury", the unisex silhouette features a complex structure of 86 carefully crafted components that are cut and stitched together. The top and lining of one pair alone consist of 30 pieces.

The use of ropes is particularly significant as it references the brand's advertising from the 80s and 90s. Thus, each pair of Mercury sneakers consists of 16 meters of crocheted rope, with artisans devoting three hours to the hand weaving and application process.
