Owner of Zara Inditex plans to close some stores in Russia

The Spanish Inditex, which owns the brands Zara, Massimo Duty, Pull and Bear, Oysho, Bershka, Stradivarius, intends to abandon some stores in Russia in order to optimize its retail network. Despite the fact that the company announced the suspension of activities in Russia, there is no talk of a complete withdrawal from the market, writes Izvestia.

About plans to close some retail outlets, the company notified the owners of shopping centers in which the stores that are supposed to be closed were located. "Izvestia" refers to the information of companies in the retail real estate market. According to sources, at least 50 retail outlets may stop working.

The Inditex holding tells its partners that they intend to optimize their business in Russia, that is, to close potentially inefficient stores, for example, if they operate with a small turnover and within a radius of several kilometers from each other. Experts suggest that many foreign retailers who have suspended work in the Russian Federation will follow the same path.
