The World Shoe Congress will be held from 7 to 9 November in Istanbul under the motto "Changing the Future". The congress program is already available for review, writes Worldfootwear.com.
After the forced postponement of the event due to the earthquakes that occurred in Turkey and Syria on February 6, the organizers of the World Shoe Congress (WFC), namely the Association of Turkish Footwear Manufacturers (TASD), the Turkish Footwear Industry Suppliers Association (AYSAD) and the European Footwear Confederation (CEC) announced the dates for the 7th World Shoe Congress.
It will be held from 7 to 9 November in Istanbul under the motto "Changing the Future". The congress will discuss the challenges currently facing the footwear industry around the world, such as transport disruptions, accelerated climate change, wars, material shortages, energy crises and high inflation rates.
After a welcoming event on the evening of November 7, the second day will be opened by Matthew Griffin, also known as the "Futurist Fanatic", who will talk about the theme "Step into the Future". On this day, consumer demand trends, multi-channel retail solutions, new opportunities that the metaverse opens up and the development of artificial intelligence will also be discussed. The discussion will feature Miguel Pomares, Head of Footwear at sustainable fashion company ECOALF, and Francisco Carpineti, Commercial Director and co-founder of Future Fashion, a multi-channel platform.
The second session will be divided into two parts. The first will discuss business strategies for a new world with John Ram, CEO of Clarks footwear brand. The second part will be devoted to sustainable development and the development of a circular economy. It will feature contributions from Federico Brugnoli, who founded SPIN360, a company dedicated to developing new sustainable business models and innovative solutions from a technological and organizational point of view.
Finally, the last day will be devoted to personnel, how to attract and retain talent. Genaro Piliacampo, the founder of Gensi Group, a shoe manufacturing company known for the high professionalism of its employees, will share his experience.
