The entry into force of the "Law on the Platform Economy" has been postponed until 2027.
The Law on the Platform Economy, which regulates the activities of online marketplaces, will come into force on March 1, 2027. Previously, the new rules were supposed to come into force on March 1, 2026, but the authorities decided that online trading market participants need to adapt to the new conditions.
The final version of the bill has already been agreed upon with the State and Legal Administration of the President and sent to market participants for review. The bill provides for: the government's right to establish requirements for displaying product prices, adjusting the provision of discounts, the seller's right to refuse to participate in promotions and prohibit discounts at their own expense (platforms are required to specify the procedure for applying discounts in contracts); the obligation of the marketplace to notify its partners about changes in the terms of the contract 45 days in advance; the rules for displaying prices have been clarified in order to exclude hidden promotion of banking services through special prices when paying with "their" cards.
