Vans collaborated with the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam and released a collection of shoes and clothes, with prints from excerpts from famous paintings by the famous artist, writes Footwearnews.
The collection will go on sale already on August 3 in the online stores of the Vans brand and the Van Gogh Museum, in some traditional retail stores and in the store of the museum itself in Amsterdam.
The management of the museum believes that the launch of such a collection is consistent with the mission of the museum - to make the life and work of Vincent Van Gogh accessible to as many people as possible, in order to enrich and inspire them.
The classic Vans slip-ons introduce the artist to an early stage, when he focused on the play of light and shadow, and in which there are skeleton images. In particular, the top of one pair of Vans slip-ons depicts a human skull in a face and profile.
The top of another model is covered in handwritten text from Van Gogh's letter to his brother Theo. Another model is decorated with elements from the famous painting “Sunflowers”, also in the collection there are slip-ons with the image of the artist’s self-portrait.
The insoles of all shoe models are adorned with logos of both the Vans and Van Gogh Museum brands.
