The second Melissa x Diesel collaboration has been released.

Italian Diesel is firmly stuck somewhere in the 90s and continues to exploit the idea of futuristic plastic design, which was relevant during the craze for techno music, nightclubs and rave parties.

A year after Diesel's collaboration with Melissa began, the second collaboration features three footwear styles: the Quantum Thong Flip Flop, the Quantum Platform Clog, and the Quantum Sneaker.

The collection's key features are transparent plastic and a vibrant color palette that includes metallic silver, translucent green, navy blue, and black. The collection is complemented by the new Quantum Dome Bag, which features a curved shape and wavy texture.

This entire aesthetic resonates with the 90s – a golden age for Diesel itself, which was at the peak of its popularity, thanks in part to its vibrant advertising campaigns featuring iconic top model Kate Moss.

Thirty years later, the brand continues to pursue the same aesthetic, perhaps hoping for a spiral of evolution. But it seems the trend is different today, and the collection, intended to reflect modernity, feels a bit "from another era."
