GDS exhibition repeated the results of last year

The GDS (Global Destination for Shoes & Accessories) exhibition ended in Düsseldorf on 31 July. The salon was attended by about 900 international brands of shoes and accessories and about 15.000 visitors. Roughly the same figures appeared in last year's report.

“We were delighted to welcome exactly the same number of guests as a year ago, and our exhibitors reported a high interest in their collections,” said Werner Matthias Dornscheidt, President of Messe Düsseldorf, the organizer of the exhibition. “It’s important to note that retailers visiting GDS are actively using it as an information platform.”

In addition to the presentation of new collections and the restoration of the Design Trendsetters segment, where 20 promising designers showed their work there, the salon held a number of business events dedicated to innovations in the field of materials, technologies and merchandising. A meeting with bloggers was successfully held, bringing together 160 people led by the popular German fashion blogger Nina Schwichtenberg, as part of which the Blogger Runway Show was also held, where five participants presented their vision of the trends for the coming season.
