Wildberries boosted 85% turnover in 1 quarter of 2019 year

Wildberries, Russia's largest online supermarket, increased sales in 1 quarter of 2019 year by 85%, to 38,9 billion rubles. The online retailer connects the growth in turnover with the expansion of the assortment, an increase in the number of points of delivery of orders and a reduction in the commission for suppliers.

“The high growth rate of the company’s turnover, significantly exceeding the dynamics of the market and its main players, is associated with further expansion of the company's assortment, the growth of a network of points of delivery of orders and maintaining a high level of customer service. The key event of the 1 quarter of 2019 was the reduction from March 1 to 2019 of the commission for suppliers by 2 times to 19%. Thanks to the updated terms of cooperation, already in the first month we were able to attract 2 times more new partners - over 600 companies and individual entrepreneurs, ”says Vyacheslav Ivaschenko, Business Development Director at Wildberries.

The company noted a significant increase in sales of shoes, in particular sneakers (+ 229%) and boots (+ 202%).

So, TOP-10 of popular goods ordered on Wildberries included dresses, trousers, t-shirts, sneakers, suits (business and sports), boots, jeans, blouses, jackets and skirts.

In the 1 quarter of 2019, the fastest growing sales were in the categories of electronics (886%), office equipment (538%), garden equipment (428%), kitchen appliances (395%), household appliances (357%), holiday goods (283%), food (253%), construction tools (246%), pet supplies (204%) and orthopedics (200%).

The number of unique users of the online store in the reporting period increased by 89%, and the highest sales dynamics were noted in Kaluga (+ 125%), Vladimir (+ 124%), Ryazan (+ 117%), Ivanovo (+ 107%) and Moscow (+ 106%) areas.

Among other things, in the first three months of the year, our own network of Wildberries order issuing points expanded by more than 800 points. Today it is about 3700 points located in Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Armenia and Kyrgyzstan.

Wildberries Is the largest online retailer in Russia, operating on the market for 15 years. According to the company, Wildberries' turnover in 2018 grew by 72% and reached 118,7 billion rubles. The company employs over 20 people. The geography of Wildberries' presence covers five countries: Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Armenia. Over 000 thousand orders are processed daily in the company's online store.
