The December frosts in Russia provoked an increase in demand for felt boots, earflaps and fur coats, says Wildberries. From December 1 to December 20, compared to the same period last year, sales of felt boots in pieces increased 2,5 times. Galoshes are also purchased for felt boots, the demand for which in the reporting period doubled year-on-year.
Winter hats popular with Russians in 2021 included earflaps (sales in pieces grew 3 times year-on-year) and traditional Russian downy shawls and shawls (sales increased 2 times year-on-year). Eco-friendly faux fur coats are also popular. Overall, the sales of fur coats in the first half of December 2021 on the Wildberries online platform were four times higher than the sales of fur coats in the same period in 2020.
As calculated in the analytical service of the online retailer, the most active buyers of fur coats live in Kostroma (sales in pieces increased 8 times year on year) and Kirov (7 times) regions, as well as in Karachay-Cherkessia (7 times), Kabardino -Balkaria (6 times) and Buryatia (6 times).
