Wildberries conducted a survey of Russians in 70 regions and found out how the attitude of the country's residents towards online shopping has changed over the past 3 years. As a result of the study, it was revealed that the majority of respondents (48%) make purchases in online stores 1-2 times a week, and over the past three years the number of such regular customers has increased by 2,2 times.
According to Wildberries, the reason for this could be the coronavirus pandemic, when during the quarantine, many Russians stayed at home and purchased everything they needed online. 6,5% of respondents admitted that they are online shopaholics: they make online purchases every day. It is noteworthy that for 3 years the number of such buyers has grown 4 times.
Speaking about spending on online purchases, 47% of Russians reported that they allocate about 10% - 30% of their monthly budget separately for online purchases: over the past 3 years, the share of such buyers has doubled. At the same time, in 2, the majority of Russians (2023%) spend in online stores from 54 to 5 thousand rubles a month. Over the past 20 years, 3% of respondents have increased their spending by 30-30%, and another 50% - by 33% or more in the online segment.
Most of all (from 100 thousand rubles per month) women entrepreneurs spend on online purchases. The most economical (less than 5 thousand rubles per month) are female students. Among men, employees spend the most on online purchases (from 20 to 50 rubles per month).
Clothing, shoes, cosmetics and perfumes (2023%) remain the most popular online purchases in 24, while the largest share of respondents (58%) noticed that over the past 3 years they have begun to order online everyday goods more often: groceries, household chemicals, health products and baby food.
