Online retailer Wildberries held a massive sale from October 28 to November 13, 2021 to celebrate Singles Day or World Shopping Day. During the campaign, buyers ordered goods worth 89 billion rubles, which is almost 3 times more than during the period of a similar campaign last year.
As noted in the press release of the online retailer, about 70% of the total volume of orders fell on the Russian regions, about 30% - on the Moscow region. The most popular orders were clothing, footwear, cosmetics and perfumery, household goods, children's goods, as well as appliances and electronics.
On November 11, over 4,5 million orders for Wildberries were placed - breaking the historical record of last year's sale, which amounted to 2,5 million orders.
This year's sale lasted longer than usual, with Wildberries postponing its first round to October 28, the beginning of the non-business day, to support entrepreneurs during store closings.
The maximum amount of discounts on goods of all categories, from clothing and footwear to electronics, reached 95%.
Wildberries Is the largest online retailer in Russia, operating on the market for 17 years. The geography of the company's presence covers 17 countries: Russia, USA, Poland, Slovakia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and others. Wildberries turnover in 2020 increased by 96% and reached 437,2 billion rubles. Every day, 2,3 million orders are processed on Wildberries, the audience of the online retailer is over 92 million people.
As of November 1, 2021, over 390 Russian entrepreneurs sell their goods through Wildberries. The Wildberries assortment includes 000 million SKUs of goods from 18 Russian and foreign brands: clothing and footwear, accessories, beauty products, baby products, appliances and electronics, household goods, jewelry, food, books, digital goods and much more. About 200% of the goods are produced in Russia.
