Wildberries will build a large logo center in Uzbekistan

The Russian online retailer Wildberries signed a memorandum of cooperation with the khokimiyat of the Tashkent region of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The parties agreed on a strategic partnership and the construction of a large Wildberries logistics hub in the Tashkent region. It could become the company's largest logistics center outside of Russia.

The document was signed by the khokim of the Tashkent region of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Zoir Mirzaev, and the director for international development of Wildberries, Rafael Abrahamyan, at the Third Forum of Interregional Cooperation between Russia and Uzbekistan in Kazan.

The opening of the logo center is scheduled for 2025. Wildberries is already preparing a feasibility study for the construction project and the necessary design documentation.

The planned area of the Wildberries logistics hub is over 150 thousand sq. m. The Khokimiyat of the Tashkent region allocates 29,4 hectares of land to Wildberries in accordance with the current legislation of Uzbekistan. The online retailer plans to invest about $140 million in the construction of a logistics facility.

“This is a strategically important project for the country and the company, which will contribute to the development of online commerce in Uzbekistan and will support local producers in selling goods both within the country and abroad. Thanks to the emergence of a new large logistics center, entrepreneurs in Uzbekistan will be able to significantly reduce their logistics costs and invest in scaling their business, opening new markets for local products on the Wildberries online platform,” said Rafael Abrahamyan, director of international development at Wildberries.
