The largest Russian online retailer plans to enter the EU countries. The first step for this will be the opening of a store in Poland this summer, ”Kommersant writes with reference to a document of the Ministry of Industry and Trade - instructions for suppliers of an online retailer. The document is published on the portal of support for small and medium-sized enterprises of the Kirov region.
In addition, a source close to the company confirmed the publication’s reporters this summer about plans to open a Wildberries site in Poland. The retailer himself confirmed his plans to enter the markets of the EU countries, but did not specify the specific country with which European expansion will begin.
Currently, Wildberries is already present in Kazakhstan, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan and Armenia.
According to Ecommerce Europe, in the 2018 year, the turnover of the Polish Internet trading market reached € 7,4 billion. Entering the Polish market will be a good start for the development of the Wildberries business in Europe.
