Wildberries will pay entrepreneurs a bonus for the growth of orders

The Russian online retailer Wildberries is running a price containment program under which entrepreneurs who list their products on the online platform and provide discounts on their products will receive financial support in the form of cash payments from Wildberries. The company is ready to spend up to 300 million rubles.


 From September 21 to 25, Wildberries hosted a new stage of the Bonus for Order Growth program. Under its terms, entrepreneurs who keep prices down by providing discounts on products and increased the amount of orders for their goods from the previous week will receive an additional payment from the company.

The total amount of additional payments will be 300 million rubles, they will be accrued to entrepreneurs next week, from October 3.

“We continue to support entrepreneurs in the face of increased volatility and encourage their efforts to curb price increases. Within the framework of the program, taking into account its previous stages, the company will allocate more than 1,1 billion rubles to business representatives. We will continue to offer entrepreneurs profitable mechanics and tools to support their sales,” the Wildberries press service said.

In January-August, Wildberries provided Russians with subsidies for goods in the form of discounts totaling 102,3 billion rubles, which is 35% more than in the same period last year.

The maximum volume of the company's investments in price reductions occurred in August 2022 - 17,4 billion rubles, which is 29% higher than in July 2022. At this time, the Russians were actively preparing for the new academic year - additional discounts allowed them to make more purchases of socially significant goods, the company said in a press release. 

Wildberries is the largest online retailer in Russia, operating on the market for 17 years. The geography of the company's presence covers all regions of Russia, as well as a number of foreign countries, including Belarus, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan, etc. The turnover of Wildberries in 2021 increased by 93% and reached 844 billion rubles, and in the 1st half of 2022 it amounted to 628,7 billion rubles. (+94%). Every day, 4,5 million orders are placed on Wildberries, the monthly audience is over 130 million users (MAU).

As of September 2022, over 960 entrepreneurs sell their goods through Wildberries. The Wildberries range includes products from 000 Russian and foreign brands: clothing and footwear, accessories, beauty products, children's products, appliances and electronics, household goods, jewelry, food, books, digital goods and much more. About 595% of goods are produced in Russia.
