The Russian online retailer Wildberries is starting construction of a warehouse complex in Udmurtia in Sarapul, its area will be 50 sq. The opening of the new logo center will create about 000 jobs, support local businesses, and speed up the delivery of orders to customers. The warehouse complex in Sarapul can be put into operation as early as the end of 2.
“Now more than 1,2 thousand entrepreneurs from Udmurtia sell their products through Wildberries, their turnover for 9 months of 2022 increased by 480% to 327 million rubles. I am sure that the producers of the region have a high potential for development in the online sales segment: high-quality clothing, children's goods, food, and household goods are produced here. The emergence of such a large warehouse complex will allow entrepreneurs to reduce logistics costs and expand the range of products,” said Tatyana Bakalchuk, founder and CEO.
After the opening of the company's own logistics center in Udmurtia, the delivery time of goods will also be significantly reduced: orders will be received from the local warehouse to the points of issue the very next day.
“The Wildberries logistics center is a very important project for the republic. And not only for businesses, but also for residents. Firstly, these are 2,5 thousand jobs for Sarapul and Udmurtia, and secondly, the ability to quickly receive goods after ordering on the marketplace. This year, in Udmurtia, they began to purchase goods online almost 3 times more often, the volume of purchases only at Wildberries since the beginning of the year amounted to 4,6 billion rubles. These are a variety of items - from household chemicals and clothing to furniture. Wildberries continues to strengthen the logistics infrastructure for buyers and entrepreneurs: in 2022, the company opened over 30 logo centers across the country. New facilities have been launched in 19 regions: Ivanovo, Novosibirsk, Lipetsk, Omsk, Saratov, Astrakhan, Ulyanovsk, Tomsk, Tula, Vologda, Lipetsk and Belgorod regions, the Moscow region, as well as in the Stavropol Territory, Udmurtia, North Ossetia, Altai Territory, Tatarstan and Chuvashia.
