X5 Retail Group and PickPoint Network join forces

X5 Retail Group, the manager of Pyaterochka and Perekrestok supermarkets, and PickPoint, the leader of the Russian express delivery market, developing its own brand chain, has signed an agreement to create a joint venture in order to develop a network of lockers in X5 Retail Group stores, ”writes Retail.ru

The joint venture will be organized on an equal footing, the number of postamat under its management by the end of the year should reach 1500.

The development of a network of lockers allows X5 Retail Group to provide customers with a convenient and in-demand service, give small online stores and regional manufacturers access to the company's developed logistics infrastructure, and also attract additional traffic to stores in X5 retail chains. To date, more than 1700 lockers and pick-up points have been installed in them, most of which are connected to the PickPoint single sales network.

The first PickPoint pedestal in retail X5 Retail Group was installed in June last year. Since that time, more than 300 thousand parcels have been issued.

The PickPoint network currently has 5 check-in terminals and pick-up points in more than 500 cities and towns of Russia. About 540 online stores are connected to the PickPoint network. The number of orders issued by PickPoint in 5 was 500 million.
