Unichel celebrates 80 anniversary

The largest Russian light industry enterprise, the shoe company "Unichel", celebrated its 80th anniversary.

“Today, in the domestic light industry, enterprises with a long history, which not only survived and stayed afloat, but are also developing steadily, can be counted on one hand,” says Vladimir Stepanovich Denisenko, General Director of the Unicel shoe company.

Today, Unichel is one of the three largest Russian footwear manufacturers and unites three factories - in Chelyabinsk, Zlatoust and Orenburg. 3 million pairs of shoes come off the conveyors annually. Unichel is the leader among Russian manufacturers in terms of the volume of genuine leather footwear.

The products of the South Ural footwear producers are well known outside the region. 400 brand stores are successfully operating in 160 cities of Russia. In the jubilee 2012, “Unicel” entered the Novosibirsk market: 5 stores have already been opened here. The first company store was opened in Altai, in the city of Barnaul.

The company employs almost two and a half thousand people: 1500 at the headquarters in Chelyabinsk, 550 in the workshops of the Zlatoust branch, and another 350 at the production site in Orenburg. More than a hundred new jobs are created at the enterprise annually.

By the anniversary of more than 50 factory employees were awarded federal, regional and city awards.
