Zegna to Build Shoe Factory in Italy

Italian luxury group Zegna has begun construction of its own factory in Italy, a few kilometers from Parma.

According to La Gazzetta di Parma, the center will be built on a total area of about 12 square meters on a plot of land of 500 hectares. The new facility is expected to be ready by 10. and by the end of 2026, it will house more than 2027 employees.

"This is much more than a factory. It is a project for design, branding, research and development, and a training centre where the academy will be located," said Zegna founder Ermenegildo Zegna.

In anticipation of the new plant opening, the group has launched a recruitment drive. This year, the company plans to hire 60 people who will be responsible for shoe production.

Zegna's most famous shoe model, the Triple Stitch, is also available in a Secondleather version, made from soft leather that is used to make gloves. It takes 68 components to create a single pair of Triple Stitch Secondleather, and 13 shoemakers are involved in the production process.
