Zenden builds a factory in Crimea

Zenden, a Russian retailer and manufacturer of shoes, with the participation of the RNKB Bank, will build a shoe production cluster in the city of Yevpatoriya.

It is planned to build a multifunctional shoe factory with a capacity of up to 1 million pairs of shoes per year.

The production cluster will include the most advanced shoe testing laboratory and corporate university, where employees will undergo advanced training, as well as study all stages of shoe production - from design development to obtaining the final product. It is planned to install unique equipment at the facility, introduce advanced industrial lines, and introduce resource-saving technologies.

The volume of investments in the construction and commissioning of the factory will amount to more than 1 billion rubles. Completion of the first stage of construction is expected in November 2016. Commissioning of production is scheduled for the first half of 2017. The estimated payback period of the 9 project is years.

President of Zenden Holding Andrei Pavlov noted that the new production in Crimea will contribute to the improvement of existing production technologies and will positively affect the work of the entire Russian footwear industry. First of all, we are talking about the installation of German equipment at the new factory Desma, which allows the processing of waste shoe production. In addition, the manufacturer is considering the possibility of equipping the factory with sewing machines to increase labor productivity.

At the new factory, the company plans to organize the production of men's shoes (shoes, boots, low shoes, sandals), and in the future to master the production of women's shoes.

Currently, a small footwear production is already operating in the Crimea. Another Zenden production site is located in Rostov, where about 6000 pairs of shoe uppers for the Crimean factory are currently being sewn. In addition to the production of shoes, Zenden is developing branded retail. The federal network of shoe stores selling women's, men's and children's shoes Zenen has 230 retail outlets, stores are open in more than 100 cities of Russia. The company's revenue in 2015 amounted to 12 billion rubles.
