Zenden has frozen a project in the Crimea

Zenden Group has suspended the construction of a shoe cluster in the Crimea, “work has not been carried out since December 2016,” Kommersant reports.

The group at the stage of implementation of the construction project had problems with developers. The subsidiary of the Zenden Group, the company Crimea Shuz, which manages the project for the construction of a factory in Yevpatoriya, will settle disputes with contractors through an arbitration court.

In the filing cabinet of the arbitration court there is information about claims from Krym Shoes to two counterparties for the project: from Krymstroyresurs, the Zenden subsidiary demands 4,345 million rubles, from City Building Company - 25,8 million rubles.

The head of Zenden Group, Andrei Pavlov, claims that as soon as all issues with the contractors are settled, the construction of the shoe cluster will resume. At present Zenden has a small production facility in Crimea on rented premises, where about 4-5 thousand pairs of shoes are produced per month.

According to analysts, the problems with developers in the Crimea are caused by the lack of significant competition in the region in the field of construction.

The shoe industry also says that Evpatoria did not live up to Zenden's expectations in terms of the labor market. There were not as many people who wanted to work in shoe production in the resort region as we would like. At the same time, for the functioning of a large shoe enterprise, which was conceived by the company (worth 1 billion rubles), it would require qualified personnel who had yet to be trained.

Zenden Group announced a high-profile project in Crimea in April 2016. According to the Department of Economics of the Administration of Yevpatoria, in 2015-2016, the Crimea Shoes company, specially created for the implementation of the project, invested about 97,6 million rubles in it.

According to SPARK-Interfax, in September 2017, Crimea Shoes were allocated by order of the Ministry of Industry and Trade 22,47 million rubles. in the form of subsidies from the federal budget. At the same time, as Kommersant was told in the ministry, the company refused to reimburse part of the cost of paying interest on loans received from Russian banks in 2013-2017 for the implementation of new investment projects. Credit line with a limit of RUB 300 million. opened RNKB for Zenden.

Zenden group - Russian diversified production holding. The group manages a retail chain of 258 company stores in 103 cities of Russia, shopping centers, as well as modern shoe production in the country.
