According to the press services of leading shoe manufacturers in Europe, companies era from Langenfeld (Germany) and Wortmann from Detmold (Germany), planned creation of a joint venture with the company salamander will not be held due to the presence of significant legal disagreements in the field of cartel law. Both companies came to the conclusion that the conditions under which joint ventures of this level must meet the requirements of competition law are too big an obstacle for successful business in the future.
Negotiations have been ongoing for more than a year, during which agreements were reached on all other items. Recently, the terms of cartel law have been further tightened, forcing companies to decide to suspend a joint project. Enterprises with partners that are competitors in certain areas of activity are required to comply with extremely high requirements today. The decisions recently adopted by the German Federal Office for Cartel State Oversight put the planned collaboration ahead of insoluble tasks. Moreover, the Federal Agency for State Supervision of the Activities of Cartels is not required to issue a permit with confidence protection, despite the presentation of all contracts. And since there are no legal guarantees whatsoever, both companies believe that in this case it is almost impossible to assess potential risks. This, in the end, led to the adoption of this decision.
