The Vans x David Bowie collection includes sneakers and clothing that use Bowie recordings such as Blackstar, Aladdin Sane, and others to design.
So in a shoe capsule, the Vans Classic Era model is dedicated to the musician’s first single hit, “Space Oddity”. The design of the model is made in blue-green tones, the pattern in the form of circles remind of the album cover.
The Slip-On Model 47 V was rethought with a fluffy checker that resembles David Bowie’s jacket on the cover of “Hunky Dory” (1971). Yellow suede elements are decorated with a stylized inscription with the name of the musician.
Sk8-Hi Platform 2.0 sneakers became the tribute to Bowie's glam rock alter ego - Ziggy Stardust. Sneakers on the platform are made of scarlet glossy leather with Bowie logos and mounted on a black sole.
Vans Old Skool is reminiscent of the album “Aladdin Sane”. The main material of these sneakers is pearlescent milk-colored leather. The iridescent surface is decorated with a print in the form of a red and blue Bowie zipper and completed with the iconic Vans side-strip.
Sk8-Hi combines two motifs - Vans branded checkers and bright red embroidery with the Bowie logo.
The collection is complemented by 5 items of clothing and accessories, each of which represents a significant milestone in Bowie’s career - from the covers of Aladdin Sane (1973) and Ziggy Stardust (1972) to the Serious Moonlight (1983) tour.
The collection will go on sale on 5 in April; in Moscow, Vans x David Bowie sneakers and clothing will be available at Tsvetnoy department store.
