Adidas prototype sneakers from ocean waste

Adidas, a sports apparel and shoe brand, is a partner at Parley for the Oceans, an ocean pollution agency. To attract the attention of their customers, Adidas designers created a pair of ecological sneakers. Their upper part is made of material based on recycled ocean debris and poaching deep-sea nets.

“We prove that ocean plastic can be recycled into something useful,” says Parley for the Oceans.

Adidas x Parley sneakers will be produced with almost no waste. The date the shoes appeared on sale is not yet known, but the prototype is ready. The company plans to release the model into mass production.
